‘Mysteries are not to be solved. They eye goes blind when it only wants to see why.’
I did this photo for a photography forum. White on white was the theme. I saw the kids crayons on the table. The white one. Ahh, here is my white!
As I was setting up the paper I got to thinking, in all reality, how often do we use that white crayon. Apparently my kids never use it as it was the only crayon without a use mark. But of course! Why would you use a white crayon on white paper, you really can’t see it.
Then I got to thinking why. Why am I who I am? Why am I where I am? The answers are days worth of thinking. That then lead to thinking, reasons why we do or don’t do things.
Why don’t I do this? Why did I do that? Why did this person do this to me? The answers can be simple, complex or we just sit there and can’t figure it out at all. The funny thing was though, as I asked why’s in my head, how many answers where excuses. Excuses for things thought or done.
Hmmm.
Maybe, just maybe, if we took out some of the why’s and replaced them with what, we can be a bit more of a productive society. What do I do? What did I do? What did this person do?
What can I do instead of why can I do it?
Funny what this photo did to get me thinking.
